Mackinaw Surgery Center was founded by a dedicated group of Mid-Michigan physicians who wanted a better way to serve their patients. When our outpatient surgery facility opened in April 2007, the mission was to provide specialized surgical procedures in a high-quality, patient-focused environment that was comforting and accommodating.
Our mission today is unchanged. Our specialized team continues its focus on providing the best for our patients on every level. When you visit our 16,000 square foot facility, you’re greeted with convenient parking, short wait times and competitive pricing. Procedures performed in our surgery center benefit from our advanced medical technology, highly-qualified nursing staff, and private recovery rooms for you and your family. Plus, most procedures at Mackinaw Surgery Center are performed by your personal physician, adding further comfort and assurance to the experience.
Jeff Nicolai
Administrator
Jeff Nicolai is a Michigan native and Wolverines fan. His father was in the military, so he grew up all over the world but Jeff calls Michigan home. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Economics and Mathematics in 1994.
After a few years in the financial sector, Jeff began his healthcare career moonlighting in a community emergency department as an ER tech. Over the next 15 years, Jeff’s experience and training covered a variety of responsibilities running the gambit from triage and scheduling to budgeting and contracts. This background has given him valuable insight into the inner workings on both sides of the surgical suite.
When the opportunity to work with Neuhealth in LaPorte, IN was presented, Jeff was thrilled to accept the position. His experience proved so valuable Neuhealth moved him to manage Mackinaw Surgery Center. Jeff’s goal-driven management style combined with his passion for leadership ensures both staff and patients feed off the positive atmosphere he creates. You will frequently see Jeff wearing scrubs so he can be involved in the daily operations and actively engaged. Jeff feels blessed to be working with this terrific team who, together, is striving for the best possible patient experience.
